In July 2008, TelstraClear contributed one third of the seed funding required for a new, updated Emergency Youth Services Vehicle, operated by The Salvation Army around the streets of central Wellington.
The new “Street Beat” van was launched in August 2009, and is set-up regularly in Manners Mall where trained Youth Workers and youth give out barbequed sausages and hot drinks, helping to offer an alternative to drinking, drugs and fights in an effort to keep Wellington and our youth, safe.
