Jasmax, an architectural practice, needed a building that not just worked for them as a business but improved Auckland’s urban environment. Objectives included being a good neighbour, setting environmental benchmarks, balancing client work and creative endeavour and reflecting its New Zealand heritage.
Using a compilation of Cubic Colours, the Jasmax floor is at once a mosaic, a temperature map or a patchwork of fantasy. No adhesive was used; it floats using Interface’s patented Tac-Tile system.
The Tac-Tiles allow installers to lay carpet tiles directly on top of most hard surfaces without permanently attaching the carpet to the sub-floor. And should Jasmax out grow the building, they simply lift up the carpet tile and take it with them.
