The Good Packaging Company is New Zealands’ leading authority on the design, development and delivery of ethical packaging.
We believe in developing packaging solutions that add value at every stage of their lifecycle. Our philosophy of dealing with packaging materials is based on the ‘cradle to cradle’ model. This vision presupposes that all source materials used in our packaging is ethically processed and environmentally benign. Ideally, the elements constituent to all our packaging adds further environmental value by being an organic nutrient to the Earth.
A ‘good’ package is one that is made from sustainable resources. This type of packaging includes all plant-based bio-polymers and the various blends possible using organic waste and biodegradable colourants.
Our Product Stewardship Program takes full responsibility for the ethical production, distribution and upcycling of all materials used. Our goal is to get as much of our packaging back post consumer so as to be able to upcycle it into either more packaging or to be used as source material for the ‘bottles to pottles’ project.
The Good Product Stewardship Program will manage the production, distribution and recovery of bio-polymer packaging from the waste stream.
Desired Outcomes:
- Reduction of waste to landfill;
- Increased financial rewards/incentives for Recyclers;
- Education of public about ‘cradle to cradle’ resource management;
- Carbon credits created by ‘Bottles to Pottles’ Project.
