At not quite two years old, Queenstown adventure tourism operation Ziptrek Ecotours is zipping into the finalists among New Zealand’s leading sustainable companies.

The Sustainable 60 Awards were created by Fairfax Media Business Group in partnership with PwC (Pricewaterhouse Coopers) in 2009 to set the standard and provide recognition for sustainable businesses. Ziptrek Ecotours joins Anguillid Consulting, Auckland Airport, Beca, Cityhop, Jasmax, and LanzaTech as finalists in the Marketplace category.
Winners will be announced at a cocktail function on November 30 in Auckland.
Ziptrek Ecotours director Trent Yeo said recognition through the Sustainable 60 Awards was a valued accolade for a company committed to providing a superb, ecofriendly adventure experience in the forest above Queenstown while also teaching the principles of sustainable practice to its guests.
He said sustainable practice was fundamental to the company ethos.
“Ziptrek Ecotours is immensely proud to be recognised as a finalist in this year's Sustainable 60,” he said.
“Our products and staff are dedicated to the idea of practicing and inspiring sustainability. Guests experience an adventurous activity which acknowledges a spectacular environment and offers valuable insight into a working sustainable concept, one that doesn’t involve vehicles, environmental consumption or waste.
