If the winter weather is biting a little too hard for you at the moment, how about getting a little ‘Heat’ in your life?

We’re giving our Celsias readers the chance to win some tickets to award-winning and critically acclaimed love story ‘Heat’, playing this coming Tuesday (July 13) at the Herald Theatre in Auckland.

Heat is a love story between a woman, a man, and last but not least, a penguin. And making it that much cooler (or should that be hotter?) is the fact that the show is powered by sustainable and renewable sources of solar and wind energy.

We’ve got four double passes up for grabs for Celsias readers, but you’ll have to be quick. All you have to do it share with us the most remote location you’ve ever been to.

To kick it all off, the most isolated spot I’ve been to is Canada’s arctic circle back in 2004, where I got to hang out with Polar Bears in their natural habitat...

More about Heat

Showing: Monday 12 - Saturday 17 July

Location: Herald Theatre, Aotea Centre, Auckland.

Presented by Ice Floe in association with STAMP at THE EDGE

On the surface, scientists Stella and John are wintering in a tiny hut in the Antarctic; Stella is studying emperor penguins but as the winter unfolds, an uneasy tension pervades their relationship. Shut into the icy grip of an Antarctic winter, they can not avoid the emotions they both have tried to bury. Into their lives comes a rejected penguin named Bob, who infiltrates their tent and their lives creating a strange and tangled love triangle between the husband and wife.

Heat also explores the interface between science and the arts; by creating an installation of an Antarctic hut in a performance space.  This sustainable solar and wind energy powered production is a groundbreaking and potentially ‘world first’ work.
