The first thousand Aucklanders who commute into the city on buses, trains, ferries, bikes and on foot will be rewarded with a free morning coffee this Wednesday 9th November.

Shed 10, the former ‘party central’ on Auckland’s waterfront, will be the home of The Conscious Commuters Challenge - and the first 1,000 people attending between 7am and 9am will receive a free Fairtrade Atomic or Kokako coffee.

Attendees to the breakfast will be among the first to see the Sustainable City Showcase, a huge showcase of sustainable businesses and organisations displaying a vision for a truly sustainable city.  There’s everything from solar power, the latest in NZ Fashion and Design, fair trade, organic and locally grown food and drinks through to eco-tourism, NZ made textiles, carpets and furniture, electric cars and bikes to sustainable burials!

You can also even do some grocery shopping at the Farmers Market outside the shed, where local growers and food producers will be selling their fresh and seasonal produce.

There will also be an array of breakfast treats on sale from Little Bird, Ripe Deli, the Library Café, Cosset and more.  A cuddly gorilla will also be roaming the breakfast, handing out free All Good Bananas.

Details to remember:

When: 9th of November, 7-9am

Where: At Shed 10 – on Auckland’s Queens Wharf
