Vanishing of the Bees- Christchurch Screening

<>Honeybees have been mysteriously disappearing across the planet, literally vanishing from their hives.Know as Colony Collapse Disorder this phenomenon is something of a canary in a goldmine. If the bees disappear our food goes with them .

Commercial beekeepers David Hackenberg and Dave Mendes star in Vanishing of the bees  as they  try to keep their bees healthy and fulfill pollination contracts across the U.S. The film explores the struggles in the field and in the politics of Colony Collapse Disorder 

The filming is done in the US< Europe and Australia and Asia and examines the disappearance of honeybees that is happening right before our eyes.

A screening is  in Christchurch at the New Brighton Library, which is still operating  and its on Thursday 3 November at 6.30pm. The movie runs for 90 minutes.
