The University of Otago is currently heated by lignite coal. This is a major barrier to the University's goals of sustainability and energy efficiency. In pursuit of the goal of the University of Otago to become national leader in sustainable practice and carbon neutrality, we urge that you support the transition to a coal-free campus. Specifically, the alternatives outlined in the Property Service's report regarding this issue and the implementation of these alternatives needs to be a priority.
