Well what a year it has been for Kids Kai Time Charitable Trusts “Puha Programme”.

I am still overwhelmed with it all.

We are going from strength to strength and I now am going to announce the final component to the programme. It will be called the “Seed to Feed” programme from “Dome to Dish ‘

  Kids Kai Time Charitable Trust will be  donated a mobile classroom by domegrown.net.nz

It's a pilot initiative which  we are trialling and are very excited about it due to the overwhelming educational tool it will be for the future generation of New Zealanders.  The children will be able to use it all year round and it won't be just seasonal . What it entails is the children being taught how to grow organic and spray-free produce all year round inside the structure which uses no power - just heat banks.

So as well as us teaching them how to eat healthier we will show them how to grow it for themselves, consume it at school and even take some home to share with the family.

Cannons Creek Primary School in Porirua have put their hand up to be the first to trial the mobile classroom as well as our 5aday lunch order programme.

Just Four Reasons below that  we believe the dome will help  Kids Kai Time further educate the children on our programme

• Enviromental Sustainability education. 
• Practical Activity based learning: We think the dome will also teach the children problem solving skills, language development. 
• Communication and Self Sufficiency:Working on projects together enables students to learn to communicate with each other in order to complete tasks given to them.  Even better the dome will provide children with skills at school they can replicate at home to their parents and siblings.
• Enviromental Sustainability Solution- A Geodesic Solar Dome Greenhouse. Domegrowns solar dome can be used for many purposes across the curriculum  many for growing school initiatives, food science technology ecology passive heating and horticultural studies is just to name a few.

We are very excited at this wonderful donation of the mobile classroom. So what we are hoping is for other likeminded individuals and businesses to contribute to this wonderful initiative  and support us, we will need trays, seeds ,organic potting mix plastic barrels or cubes so we can spray paint them black to use as the heat banks. The children will also be able to fundraise from using the dome by even selling the produce.
