In the busy and densely populated city of San Francisco, denizens get to enjoy a refreshing view of nature, even in the form of a dumpster. Parkmobiles, as these dumpster-turned-garden units are called, are now found along the South of Market District. Measuring about 16 feet long by 6 feet wide, the bright red Parkmobiles are lined with lush greenery, which city-goers can appreciate while they lounge on its conveniently attached benches. If buildings make it impossible for sunlight to pass, the Parkmobiles can be easily rolled out to a sunnier venue. At present, there are only 2 Parkmobile units available, a number which the city of San Francisco hopes to increase over time.
Can't you just see these on the streets of Christchurch or as a break from the hurly burly of Auckland. Their mobility and the fact that they can follow the sun is so sensible - cafe furniture seldom comes with wheels, we find.
