While this might not be achievable for many people (eating homegrown would be far more achievable), this should really give you some interesting insights into food at a pretty fundamental level.

It is always great to eat something you have hunted, caught or picked from the wild. It seems to taste so much better too. There are wild apples growing on roadsides and so on. I have found there are plenty of foraging opportunities in the city too. We see places where the fruit tree feeds the ground more than the family who lives there, walnut and chestnuts growing in parks, olives and so many more... Get out for a dog walk and take your bag next time.
