Cover your pots while cooking, 506°

Doing so can save a lot of the energy needed for preparing the dish. Even better are pressure cookers and steamers: they can save around 70%!

Great to grow your own vegetables - sort of acts as an incentive to eat more - home grown are always ,much nicer.....

yep only time I definitely do it at the moment is when making popcorn - but will try harder! husband great at hassling on this one!

It just makes sense.

Also, use a ring that is no bigger than your pot so you don't go to all the effort of heating the air around your stove!!

If you are worried about the pot steaming all over the place just tilt the lid slightly to let some of the steam escape... some pots now even have lids that have little holes that you can adjust to let some of the steam out. Barbara's comment is true too!! (Barbara M) :-)
